Introduction to my project.

I have just joined student directed inquiry and these are some of the ideas i would like to explore.

  • famous people

  • history of black civil rights
  • making a short documentary movie

  • how to change the world

However, I would like to look at an issue about 'Students Against Racism', because I am involve in a group with Gini Ennals that look at those issues. I'm interested to find out if it changes people and if possible make a short documentary about this project.

On monday 22nd March, I presented my story "living in between" to students and teachers at lunchtime in the theatrette. After that we were to answered some questions from students and teachers about our presentation. I was really please to hear and know that my story have touched and changed some of the audience. So on wednesday the 24th we had to go to a discussion with a class. After we were divided individually into a group of students and they interviewed us about our stories. My group was so amazing and I loved every question they have asked me, because I know it will have a change on them. One of them said " It is really interesting listnening to your story and knowing you when through some things in your life".

Question: How do you stop anger and fear of things that happened to you in the past, so you can have a change and live a normal life?

From my point of view, you need to forget the past no matter how painful it was. It will do you more harm than good. As I know 'vengance is from the Lord'. you need to focus a head. things that happened in the past led you to where you are today.

Today the 25th of March, Peter Armstrong showed us a video presented by Jane Mcgonigal about gamers changing the world through gaming. It was very interesting because gamers are tackling a lot of challenges in the games to save the world.

this Easter Holiday was a great moment for me, I travel to Canberra. I went to see the Parliament house and that was my first time to go to Canberra and see parliament house.

This Video is from my last year communication project, but I have decided to put in because it's linked to my SDI project.

As I stated in the begining that my projcet is changing the world or if my story had been able to change opinions. so today April 29 I am doing a research on three famous people who changed the world and how they have been everlasting symbols of hope.

  1. Your project seems really interesting Nene and one that is very courageous to do. It would be difficult trying to change the world on your own and it is really brave of you to make an attempt. Hopefully people interpret your message the way you want them to and your message creates more individuals to move towards being against racism.
